About Epicor iScala

Epicor iScala creates Collaborative ERP software - integrating Internet technology and traditional ERP functionality - to make global business simple. With iScala, global companies can fully integrate their different ERP systems anywhere in the world, whether in a subsidiary, division or at headquarters, and extend integration to their customers, partners and suppliers. iScala's Collaborative ERP systems allows global companies to meet the requirements for advanced e-business while using a standard enterprise resource planning (ERP) product to manage traditional business processes, thereby enabling them to gain measurable benefits from trading electronically, building a private exchange or global portal, or optimizing their supply chain.

From offices in Europe, North America, and the Far East, and through a worldwide network of partners and dealers, iScala delivers software and services available in over 30 languages and in more than 140 countries.

A History of Innovation

The origins of iScala go back a quarter of a century when a company called Beslutsmodeller was founded in Sweden in 1978 by Per-Olof Myrén, a successful Swedish entrepreneur and technologist. His vision was to provide companies with standard financial management software that would run on the then-dominant mini computer systems. After the launch of the IBM personal computer in 1981, the company designed and developed its software for PC-based computer networks. With growing demand for such networks worldwide, the software's functionality was extended for international markets and in 1988, new ERP software products for PCs were launched under the 'Scala' brand. During the early 1990s, the company expanded in Central and Eastern Europe and worldwide, quickly developing a network of partners and resellers to serve its growing customer base around the world. In 1996, the company renamed itself as iScala, taking the name of its market-leading ERP product. In 1997, iScala Business Solutions was formed in The Netherlands through the merger of the Swedish-based founding company and its largest partner. In 2004, Epicor iScala was formed through the merger with the US-based Epicor Software ompany.
